Network Marketing Success – How to Empower Your Downline

February 8, 2024 By Isabelle Sophie Martinet

Some network marketers think that recruiting new people to their downline will solve all their problems . Not quite. Sponsoring people and winning new customers is only half the battle. If you truly want long term success in the network marketing profession, you need to know and understand the inner workings of empowering your downline. Empowering your downline simply means giving them the proper motivation, training, support, skills and ability to produce. When your downline is empowered, duplication happens. In MLM, your residual income is in direct proportion to the amount of duplication in your downline. Here are some tips for empowering your downline:

1. Invest in the relationship. This is one of the most important aspects of building a solid network marketing downline organization. Majority of distributors try to put all their effort in getting the initial sale and signup, but after they acquire it, they sort of “abandon” their new recruits because they feel it’s too much of a responsibility to “take care “of the newbies”. But if you want long term results in this industry, don’t just stop with the initial sale. After signing up new distributors, assure them that you will be with them for the long haul. Show them that you are ready to be a loyal leader who is responsible to stick with the team and be a part of everyone’s success. If you invest in the relationship with prospects and customers, you will never have to worry about massive attrition rates in this industry.

2. Build a sense of community. It’s very important to build a sense of community among your team members. Without a community, distributors will feel isolated and alone, but with a community they will feel inspired and empowered. There are many ways to build a sense of community. You can conduct weekly teleconferences. Or you can build an online discussion forum for your downline. You can even arrange a monthly “meet” in person for all key leaders and producers.
